Guidelines: It's time to show off! The Promenade is a public procession that consists of businesses, dance teams, car clubs, bands, floats and more!
This showcase is a family friendly event consisting of a grand march of participants down Oxford Street. Perform, bring your banners; be seen by the community.
All participants must use signage and music that is uplifting, family friendly and in the spirit of unity in the community.
We will walk east on Oxford-. All parade spectators & businesses can participate! Please join the "Second Line" enter the parade at the rear and follow along! We can’t do this without you! (All participants are expected to participate in the Opening Ceremony, at the stage, immediately after the Promenade.
At the end of the Promenade the Rosa Parks Citilink bus will take all participants back to their cars after the Opening Ceremony. This is a first come, first serve opportunity, as the bus will only be doing one run, back to the starting point for participant's to retrieve their vehicles.
The Art Center presents the Macknificent Freedom Fest, the official Juneteenth Celebration in Fort Wayne, IN! Thank you for your interest in joining the team. The Macknificent Freedom Fest is a family-friendly event honoring African American history, freedom, and the best of us. It is a time to educate, organize and celebrate!
Our Mission is to systematically develop Renaissance Leaders in order to connect leaders and organizations that embody a collective conscience for community welfare and events; locally and abroad. Each year we bring together a great number of organizations and businesses. We hope to connect even more this year. Participants must follow the rules and guidelines set in place. The Macknificent Freedom Fest programming sub-committee will review ALC Promenade entries. ALC Promenade selection will take place on Sunday, June 9th, 2024. The programming committee will notify selected participants. An email of approval will be sent on or after the selection date, along with the guidelines, ALC Promenade location, and link for payment
